Lodging Recommendations in Bellingham
While we recommend staying on the Island, we understand some folks might prefer a traditional hotel experience. We are not doing room blocks, but here are the hotels where we are looking to provide transportation to and from the wedding.
Located in between Bellingham and the ferry to the island, this hotel is just about ~10 min from the ferry
Right across from the Bellingham Airport (less than a 5 min walk) you can fly in and not worry about renting a car or staying on the island
Hotel Bellwether is a beautiful waterfront hotel in Bellingham, and a scenic 23 minute drive from the Lummi Island Ferry.
Travel Recommendations
Bellingham Airport (BLI)
BLI is located ~25 min from the Island and has direct flights on both Southwest and Aliegent Air from Oakland Airport in the Bay Area. It also offers connecting flights on Alaska from SeaTac throughout the day
SeaTac Airport (SEA)
SEA is roughly a 2.5-3 hour drive from Lummi Island (depends on the traffic). This is a great option with lots of direct flights from major airports across the US
Paine Field (PAE)
PAE is just north of downtown Seattle and around 1.5 hours from the Lummi Ferry.
If you are flying in and interested in exploring off Island, we do suggest looking into rental cars
*if you plan to book on your own through airbnb or vrbo, please check the location as it can occasionally show you houses in Bellingham or other surrounding islands. There are some houses just on the other side of the island (close to the ferry), which can be a great option and still close to the action.
